A therapy session whereby strangers play the part of people close to you, and therefore help you to understand some hidden issues that you may then resolve

Caution
  • Based on the views of the founder, Family Constellation therapy has been criticised for assuming the superiority of Male individuals of a 'straight' sexual orientation


  • The views of the founder have also been referred to as homophobic, anti-Semitic and harsh on women


  • Their practices had in the past glorified criminals in an attempt to resolve complex issues


  • Many practitioners distance themselves from these views and are thought to offer a fair service to their clients

  • Desire to improve social interaction with close ones

  • Developed in the 1990's by Bert Hellinger


  • Hellinger lived in South Africa and immersed himself in the Zulu culture and language
