They are usually plant products that provide maximum nutritional benefits with a minimal risk of excess weight gain. The high levels of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants is beneficial for healing, general wellbeing and health promotion

Superfoods alone can not provide all the nutrients and calories needed for good health
Superfoods taken as supplements is not as healthy as dietary supplies
Over-reliance on superfoods is unlikely to be beneficial for gut health or general wellbeing
