This is a paste of herbs, plants or other substances that is used for therapy purposes. It is placed on a warm, moist cloth and applied to the body. It provides heat and herbal medications that relieves pain, reduces inflammations and promotes healing

Caution
  • Some may cause burns to the skin and tissues


  • May cause allergic reactions

  • Injuries


  • Skin abrasions


  • Cuts and wounds


  • Insect bites


  • Abscess (Boil)


  • Diabetic ulcers

  • Epsom salt poultices are preferentially used for abscesses


  • Common herbs used for poultices include:


  • Turmeric, Onion, Ginger, Eucalyptus, Garlic, Aloe Vera, Baking soda, Bread, Activated charcoal, Cat's claw,  Dandelion and Milk
