Safe with pregnancy
This is the provision of therapy through groups where members share a common problem, and discuss their ways of managing their challenges. They share coping mechanisms and survival strategies. Members are able to speak openly and learn from each other's experience in a non-judgemental manner

Some members may be unruly and disruptive
Inter-personal conflicts can sometimes occur
The experience may be traumatic to some vulnerable individuals
Competitive comparisons of personal challenges may cause a loss of focus
Incorrect advice can spread quite rapidly and may sometimes be harmful to individuals

Some groups are professionally operated. They are overseen by a relevant organisation that provides advice and other useful resources to the members
Groups may also act as the source of information to the public on the shared challenges of its members
Some support groups have membership fees attached to them
